Even though some fans had previously blamed for his comments, the previous season Liverpool had the best performance to win the league title for the first time in 30 years. Van Dijk's case has often been described as having a particularly negative impact on Liverpool, but Carragher previously said his former team should stop taking the spot as an excuse. And it got him to some degree of blame. Most recently, Carragher is adamant of his point of view.

And it seems to offend some of the fans because they view me not as encouraging the team as I should. What I want to say is that I have been analyzing this team for more than 3 years. Of course, what this team has done in the past has been amazing. But it doesn't mean that they'll save them a bit.
